It’s official. The NCAA Division I board of directors approved an option for individual conferences to approve up to $2,000 in spending money for student athletes coming to college on athletic scholarships.

Currently, athletic scholarship money can only be applied to school-specific expenses such as tuition, books and on-campus lodging.

While the NCAA is allowing each specific conference to vote on the measure, most believe all of the conferences will approve. Conferences not approving the $2,000 spending cash change risk being at a serious disadvantage during recruiting time.

Now more than ever, students should get serious about their athletics at the next level, and creating an athletic profile at Real Deal Recruits is a great place to start. Get Recruited!
